A protester scaled the Iranian embassy in London on Saturday.
The incident occurred amidst ongoing unrest in Iran, where approximately 538 people have been killed while protesting the regime.
The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) has been implicated in the crackdown. Laila Jazayeri, director of the Association of Anglo-Iranian Women in the UK, stated that the Iranian people are capable of toppling the regime without foreign military intervention.
Jazayeri added that a network of resistance has prevented the regime from forcing protesters back into their homes.
She asserted there is no need for military intervention, arguing instead that the Prime Minister should proscribe the IRGC, which she described as a deadly force killing people inside Iran.
The protests reportedly began on December 28 over the country's ailing economy, with authorities cutting internet and telephone lines in response.
More than 10,000 people have been detained during two weeks of protest, prompting Foreign Secretary Yvette Cooper to praise the bravery of those taking to the streets.
The Iranian embassy confirmed its flag was restored following Saturday's incident, which resulted in two arrests.
One individual was arrested for aggravated trespass and assault on an emergency worker; the other was detained for aggravated trespass.
Iran has warned it will target US troops and Israel if President Donald Trump carries out his threat of military action against the Tehran regime.
The pre-Islamic revolution flag is frequently used by opposition groups. Iran's ambassador in London was summoned following the flag incident.
