A Polish tourist bus veered off Hungary's M3 motorway, killing twelve and injuring dozens.
The bus reportedly traveled from Poland's southeastern Podkarpackie region, returning from a pilgrimage in Bosnia-Herzegovina.
Injured passengers received treatment at hospitals across Eger, Debrecen, and Miskolc; Poland's foreign ministry confirmed that 'virtually all' passengers required hospitalization.
It is with deep sorrow that I received the tragic news of the Polish bus accident in Hungary, in which so many of our compatriots died.
Péter Magyar stated at least 10 individuals sustained serious injuries in the crash.
Polish and Hungarian leaders extended condolences following the tragedy; Karol Nawrocki expressed profound sorrow: 'It is with deep sorrow that I received the tragic news of the Polish bus accident in Hungary, in which so many of our compatriots died.'
Polish prosecutors from Krosno will lead the investigation into the incident.
