Gasoline prices have surged, pushing the national average past $4 a gallon. This marks a substantial rise from the approximately $3 average observed five months ago, directly impacting household budgets.
Amidst this economic backdrop, public support for the war has plummeted to its lowest point since the conflict began. Only one in three Americans now back the military campaign.
An online poll, conducted from Friday through Sunday, surveyed 1,246 U.S. adults. This survey indicated the sharp decline in support, carrying a margin of error of plus or minus 3 percentage points.
Despite the waning public enthusiasm, the House of Representatives passed a Republican-backed $95 billion budget proposal. The vote was narrow, 216-214.
