Helen Berger, a former personal assistant, testified in court against Russell Brand.
The employee, who worked for Brand from June 2006 to February 2007, detailed his conduct. She never witnessed anything illegal, but observed those around him normalize and dismiss his behavior.
She claims she received instructions to get phone numbers from female fans for Brand when she first started. This request "felt uncomfortable." Brand, she stated, maintained an "insane sexual appetite," reportedly sleeping with numerous women day and night, often finding them through platforms like MySpace.

At his house, women frequently came over; it was clear they were there for sex. Brand would also ask, "May I go and have sex now?" when frustrated with a task.
The employee left her job because she was "sick of him." She observed he never seemed happy after sex, often appearing depressed. "I did see Russell treat women poorly," she confirmed.

Statements from other prosecution witnesses were read to Southwark Crown Court. One came from the manager of a woman who alleges sexual assault by Brand at Channel 4 in 2009.
Brand's wife, Laura Gallacher, was present in the public gallery during the proceedings. Brand denies all charges against him. The prosecution is due to finish presenting its case on Tuesday morning.
