Russell Brand has denied all charges as his sexual assault trial continues at Southwark Crown Court.
A specific event reportedly unfolded in 1999 at a Bournemouth hotel during a Labour Party conference; the court heard Brand was part of a comedy troupe performing there in September 1999.
A 2023 Dispatches documentary, detailing sexual misconduct allegations against Brand, prompted one accuser to contact the police. The judge informed the jury they would not see the Dispatches documentary, citing fairness concerns.
Brand's former flatmate, Mark Pinheiro, testified that Brand boasted about sex, aiming to sleep with 5,000 women. A pre-recorded police interview with one accuser, detailing her account, was played in court.
Accuser indicated that She also claims she initially thought Brand was gay and posed no threat when they first met.
The woman claims Brand grabbed her from behind while she was on the phone in a telephone booth, then stripped off her clothes and forced her into sex upon reaching the hotel.
She further stated Brand was prancing around and sitting on the bed shirtless after returning from the bathroom. The accuser claims Brand pushed her onto the bed and removed her trousers, later saying he had to return to his mum in an attempt to appear as a family man.
Another alleged victim claims Brand treated her like an animal. Some alleged victims say Brand laughed at them after an attack.
Court Claims indicated that His entourage has also been accused of not intervening to stop women from being groped, according to claims heard in court.
Brand spoke only one word in court, 'yes,' when asked if he possessed a copy of the evidence bundle.
The court heard opening statements on Wednesday, and the trial continues.
