Two 24-year-old London men face national security charges following an investigation near RAF Fairford.
The charges stem directly from a September 27 incident. That event forced the evacuation of scores of residents from their homes near a military base. Both suspects will appear at Westminster Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday.
The investigation directly relates to Iran. Counter Terrorism Policing asserts Iranian state involvement in the September 27 incident is “highly likely.” Prosecutors also claim the base has been used for strikes on Iran.
The Crown Prosecution Service confirms the investigation concerns a suspected terror plot. Police state the 'hugely complex' investigation relates to Iran.
Five other men remain on police bail as the investigation continues. Detectives interviewed an additional man under caution after the two charged individuals were re-arrested.
