Murder Arrest After Fatal Hounslow Fire
Man detained by Kent Police while travelling to France following Berkeley Avenue blaze that killed one woman.

A fire in Hounslow early Wednesday morning resulted in one fatality and multiple injuries.
Eight other individuals went to the hospital; one woman remains in a life-threatening condition. Six men and one woman with minor injuries have since been discharged.
The Metropolitan Police responded to a residential address on Berkeley Avenue, Hounslow, at approximately 01:15 BST on Wednesday.
Kent Police arrested a 34-year-old man on suspicion of murder. The arrest occurred on Sunday, August 23, 2026, as the suspect traveled on a train towards France.

John further confirmed, "Our investigation is continuing at pace and we have arrested one man in connection with the incident."
Authorities continue to seek public assistance. Neil John urged, "We continue to ask any witnesses or anyone with information about the incident to please contact us as soon as possible."
