Emergency services rushed to Higher Road at 8:42 PM on January 16 following reports of a firearms discharge.

Officers established a cordon near Urmston railway station, sealing off a section of Higher Road with police tape as the investigation continues.
Chief Inspector Mark Allinson confirmed that officers remain on-site responding to the incident.
One witness reported seeing a ripped puffer jacket lying on the pavement within the police cordon.
Another witness observed an ambulance and a first response vehicle positioned near what appeared to be a discarded coat.
Chief Inspector Darren Lomas stated the shooting is believed to be a targeted attack.
