Four Dead in Wigan Road Collision
Investigation Underway After Head-On Crash in Bolton

A tragic head-on collision on Wigan Road in Bolton has claimed the lives of four individuals.
The crash involved a red Seat Leon and a Citroen C4 Picasso taxi, killing Mohammed Jibrael Mukhtar, Farhan Patel, and Mohammed Danyaal, who were all traveling in the Seat Leon.
Masrob Ali, the driver of the Citroen C4 Picasso taxi, also died in the incident.
A 29-year-old woman, a passenger in the taxi, sustained injuries described as potentially life-threatening.
In total, five passengers from both vehicles were injured and remain in the hospital.
Councillor Altaf Patel said the community is deeply saddened by the news and confirmed the taxi driver was from Blackburn.
Humayra Ali, Masrob Ali's daughter, said the family affirmed he was a safe driver and did not cause the collision.
Police are still conducting formal identification of the victims.
Greater Manchester Police cordoned off the area following the collision, with emergency crews on-site for approximately two hours.
The road remained closed for over 14 hours as officers from the Serious Collision Investigation Unit processed the scene.
Police have acquired CCTV footage as part of their investigation, including a clip showing a driver traveling at speeds exceeding 120mph on a built-up street.
Social media rumors suggest the crash resulted from a police chase, though authorities have not confirmed this.
