Severe weather has caused significant disruption across the UK.
Forecasters had previously issued a rare red warning for dangerous, stormy winds in the South West of England last week.
The warning served as a precursor to the severe weather that followed, dumping snow and ice across much of the United Kingdom.
The wintry conditions triggered widespread disruption, forcing school closures and shutting down major roads.
Train routes also faced significant delays as the severe weather hit rail infrastructure.
Heavy rain is now forecast for Merseyside, compounding existing concerns over saturated ground.
By Sunday evening, the Scottish Environment Protection Agency (Sepa) reported 12 active flood alerts and eight flood warnings.
Forecasters advised residents in alert zones to prepare for travel delays and hazardous driving conditions.
More than 12,000 properties remained without power on Sunday evening, according to National Grid data.
Met Office meteorologist Tom Morgan stated that Sunday night would bring further wet and windy weather.
Morgan noted, however, that the week would begin on a milder, frost-free note.
Tragically, a man in his 50s was found dead in a caravan in Helston, Cornwall, after a tree crushed the vehicle during the storm.
Emergency services reached the scene on Thursday evening, with recovery efforts to remove the tree continuing through Friday.
A Government minister described the water supply failures affecting the South East and South West as 'entirely unacceptable.'
