Man Overboard From MS Ambition Off Scottish Coast
Extensive search efforts continue for missing passenger last seen on cruise ship en route to Dundee.

A man fell overboard from the cruise ship MS Ambition off the Scottish coast.
Police Scotland received an alert at 8:55 am on Friday: a man had gone overboard from a cruise ship, 40 nautical miles from Anstruther, Fife.
The vessel Ambition, en route from Lerwick to Dundee, reported the passenger missing; the alarm was raised onboard at about 08:35.
The passenger's luggage remained onboard, and his bed had not been slept in, according to one passenger.
HM Coastguard, Police Scotland, a commercial search-and-rescue helicopter, and nearby vessels all participated in the extensive search operation.
A search and rescue operation, carried out by police and partner agencies, has been ongoing and a body has been recovered.
The ship later docked in Dundee, allowing guests to disembark after a ship-wide search had been conducted.
The next of kin of the missing passenger have been notified. A Police Scotland spokesman stated, "Formal identification is yet to take place however the family of the man who was reported missing has been informed."
An Ambassador Cruise Line spokesman affirmed the company's commitment, stating, "Ambassador follows stringent search-and-rescue protocols in line with international maritime safety standards."

The MS Ambition was previously chartered by the Scottish government to house Ukrainian refugees on the River Clyde.
Police enquiries into the incident are ongoing.
