Google Cloud Outage Disrupts European Banking and Key Services
Widespread technical issues affect major banking apps, Royal Mail, and Rightmove across Europe, prompting an ongoing investigation by Google.

Google Cloud services experienced widespread outages across Europe starting around 7am UK time.
Digital bank Revolut confirmed customers could not open its app or process payments. More than 1,500 people reported problems with Revolut earlier on Tuesday morning, Downdetector platform data shows.
Google confirmed an investigation is underway to resolve the issue. "Our engineering team continues to investigate the issue," Google stated, acknowledging "all who are affected by the disruption."

Revolut confirmed customer money and data remain safe despite the service interruptions. Cloud service companies provide essential networking and storage services at scale, enabling users to connect to websites.
The widespread dependency on a few major tech firms means a single outage can disrupt large parts of the internet. Cloudflare and Amazon Web Services have experienced similar incidents in recent years.
It remains uncertain whether all websites currently showing connection problems stem from the ongoing issues affecting Google Cloud. At least some of the problems appeared to be because of an issue at Google Cloud, though it remains unclear whether all of the issues are related.
