Time Out has secured a deal to open its first UK market at The Crown Estate's 10 Piccadilly development in London's West End.
Chris Ohlund confirmed, "Securing this partnership with The Crown Estate to create our global flagship in the heart of Piccadilly Circus is one of the most significant milestones in Time Out’s nearly 60-year history."
The London site will feature approximately 15 restaurants, bars, and food businesses, alongside live entertainment and cultural experiences.
Securing this partnership with The Crown Estate to create our global flagship in the heart of Piccadilly Circus is one of the most significant milestones in Time Out’s nearly 60-year history.
Founded as a print magazine in London in 1968, the company ceased printing physical copies in 2022.
Time Out expanded into food markets, launching its first site in Lisbon in 2014; it now develops new venues in Delhi, Abu Dhabi, Sao Paulo, Prague, and Riyadh.
Ohlund emphasized this return, stating, "Bringing the globally recognised Time Out Market concept home to London is both a celebration of where we began and a statement of where we are going."
The new market in Piccadilly Circus stands as a global flagship for Time Out's food hall portfolio.
Time Out claims it raised £8.4 million through a share placing to launch the London market and a second New York hall.
London placed fourth on Time Out's annual 25 Best Cities list in March.
London is one of the world’s greatest cities for food and culture, and there is no better location than Piccadilly Circus to showcase everything that makes it extraordinary.

The new venue plans to open in the summer of 2028.
While the deal specifies The Crown Estate's 10 Piccadilly development, the new market is also understood to be located at 55 Regent Street, a Grade II listed building owned by The Crown Estate.
