Scotland faces continued disruption as flood warnings and alerts escalate.
Sepa has increased the number of flood warnings from three to nine and flood alerts from twelve to thirteen. The Met Office has simultaneously issued yellow warnings for wind and rain, impacting most of north-western Scotland.
Driving conditions will be treacherous as heavy rain meets melting snow. Thawing snow poses a significant flood risk to transport networks, with further snow, rain, and high winds forecast.
David Morgan, Sepa's flood duty manager, warned that persistent heavy rain combined with melting snow is driving up the flood risk. Potential impacts include flooding in communities, low-lying land, transport infrastructure, and individual properties.
The A92 trunk road in Aberdeenshire is closed in both directions due to flooding. The A83 trunk road also remains shut; inspectors will assess the route on Monday to determine if it can reopen.
Aberdeenshire Council has stood down the major incident status declared during the peak of the severe weather. Highland schools are expected to resume classes on Monday.
The Scottish Government's Resilience Room convened for its seventh consecutive day to manage the crisis. Met Office chief meteorologist Matthew Lehnert said the UK's weather pattern will shift through Sunday as milder Atlantic air moves in from the west.
While the change in weather should bring relief to affected areas, residents are advised to remain vigilant and follow updates from local authorities.
