A trial concerning an alleged racial slur during a Premier League match was abruptly halted today.
Mogan suffered a seizure during the lunch break of his trial, requiring an ambulance transfer to the hospital.
District Judge Mary Dowrick refused an application to proceed with the trial in Mogan's absence; proceedings are now expected to continue at a later date.
The alleged incident unfolded as Semenyo, then playing for Bournemouth, prepared to take a throw-in.
Two short video clips were presented to the court as evidence.
The prosecution claims Mogan shouted: “Hurry up and take the throw-in, you black bastard,” causing Semenyo to "briefly froze, as he couldn’t believe what the male had said," Simon Jones, prosecuting, stated.

Hurry up and take the throw-in, you black bastard.

Mogan
Mogan then reportedly shouted, "I’m talking to you, you c*," and threw chewing gum at Semenyo, striking him on the right side of his shorts, the prosecution asserts.
Neil Sherratt, a Liverpool supporter, stated he observed Mogan approach the pitch from the disabled section and heard him shout something along the lines of “hurry up.”
Sherratt claims Semenyo turned towards Mogan with a shocked expression, reportedly asking: ‘You what?'
In a police interview, Mogan told officers he had shouted at Semenyo to “hurry up,” but claimed Semenyo called him a cripple, which upset him.
Mogan's account also states he threw chewing gum onto the floor, not at Semenyo; the prosecution asserts this claim was a clear lie.
Nicholas Collins, another Liverpool fan, stated Mogan became “very cocky and brazen” after the incident.
Collins claims Mogan declared: "If the bizzies (police) come I’m going to deck them. I’m not going anywhere."
