Ivan Toney has been charged with assault.
Police allege the incident occurred at 100 Wardour Street, a London nightclub, on December 6 last year. The alleged incident involved a 'headbutt'; other accounts at the time claimed a fan seeking a selfie grabbed the former Brentford and Peterborough United player.
Ivan Toney's spokesperson stated, 'Ivan acknowledges the charge and although he is naturally shocked, he looks forward to being given the opportunity to clear his name in court.'

His selection for the World Cup previously drew widespread criticism. This choice surprised many, despite Toney playing his football in Saudi Arabia and plundering 42 goals last term.
Toney, who plays for Saudi Pro League club Al-Ahli, has earned ten caps for England, scoring one international goal.
