A man's body was discovered at Charlton Athletic's stadium, The Valley.
Detectives are investigating whether the man may have fallen from a height, the Metropolitan Police confirmed.
Charlton Athletic has confirmed its full support for the police with their ongoing enquiries following the discovery.
A Charlton Athletic spokesperson stated, "Charlton Athletic are supporting the police with their enquiries following the discovery of a deceased individual at The Valley on Tuesday morning."
A male was sadly pronounced dead at the scene.
The club also noted, "A male was sadly pronounced dead at the scene."
Charlton Athletic maintains there is no suggestion of any wrongdoing on the part of the club.
The man's family has been informed of the incident, and authorities have appealed for witnesses to come forward.
In response to the incident, Charlton Athletic's under-21 fixture against Bolton was relocated to their Sparrows Lane training ground.
Charlton Athletic extended its sympathies, stating, "Everyone at Charlton Athletic would like to express their deepest sympathies and heartfelt condolences to the individual's family, friends and loved ones at this incredibly difficult time."
The club also thanked its staff for their professionalism, acknowledging the "particularly difficult and distressing situation."
