Mrs Brown's Boys Christmas Specials Cancelled Due to O'Carroll's Jaw Fractures

O'Carroll confirmed the cancellation, stating, "It is with sincere regret I must announce that due to an unexpected medical issue I will have to cancel the recordings of the 2026 Mrs Brown’s Boys Christmas and New Year’s Specials."

A CT scan revealed two fractures in his jaw. O'Carroll explained, "Following a CT Scan, it was found that I had two fractures in my mandible (jaw) which requires immediate surgery and a few months recovery."

O'Carroll issued an apology to the fanbase. He stated, "I would like to sincerely apologise to all our fans who were looking forward to seeing the shows and for any disappointment caused."

Despite the immediate disruption, O'Carroll is in discussions with the BBC. He aims to bring his TV series back to screens in 2027, affirming, "I am talking with the BBC about getting Mrs Brown’s Boys back on the screen in 2027."

A BBC spokesperson confirmed these ongoing discussions. "We wish Brendan a full and speedy recovery and are working with him on plans for Mrs Brown’s Boys in 2027," the spokesperson stated.

O'Carroll also hopes to reschedule the D'Panto arena shows. These performances are targeted for 2027.

O'Carroll concluded with an optimistic outlook for the future. He added, "I genuinely cannot wait to see you all again in 2027."

The Mrs Brown's Boys comedy series commenced in 2011. It is filmed at BBC Scotland studios in Glasgow.

The show has reportedly secured multiple comedy prizes. These awards were presented at the National Television Awards.
