Labour MP Karl Turner has had his suspension lifted.
Turner issued an apology for his conduct, stating, "I want to take this opportunity to apologise and reflect on the offence I may have caused colleagues in recent months."
The Labour Party spokesperson confirmed the whip's restoration. This followed discussions with Government Chief Whip Anneliese Midgley; the spokesperson noted it was on a probationary basis.

aspects of his behaviour, actions and public comments fell short of the standards expected of Labour MPs.

The Chief Whip welcomed Karl Turner's constructive engagement. She acknowledged his admission that "aspects of his behaviour, actions and public comments fell short of the standards expected of Labour MPs."
Turner had criticized government policy. He questioned the circumstances surrounding the theft of ex-No 10 chief of staff Morgan McSweeney’s mobile phone.
He also expressed concerns over plans to limit jury trials in England and Wales. The former prime minister's plans to curb jury trials have since been abandoned by Andy Burnham after he replaced Sir Keir in Downing Street.
Turner claimed the decision to block Andy Burnham from running for the Gorton and Denton seat was a reason for a by-election defeat.
Turner expressed a desire to move forward, stating, "With the Party under new leadership and a renewed approach to managing differences of opinion, I am keen to move forward positively and draw a line under this episode."

We welcome his public apology and the undertakings he has given regarding his future conduct. We now look forward to moving ahead positively, with Karl Turner continuing to contribute as a Labour MP.
