England bowler Brydon Carse has been dropped from the squad for the second Test against Pakistan at Lord's.
The Cricket Regulator now investigates Carse over a Saturday night incident in Derby; police officers filmed him handcuffed outside a nightclub.
He was reportedly arrested briefly on suspicion of being drunk and disorderly, then de-arrested and released without charge.
Joe Root confirmed direct communication with Brydon Carse, who is said to be "very upset, very apologetic and understands his actions."

This incident occurred just five days after Root publicly addressed the need for players to be "really good role models and human beings," following accusations of a team drinking culture.
Root also claims the incident is part of a pattern of players making "stupid mistakes" away from the game.
Carse was previously banned for breaching betting rules and sent home from a 2023 Caribbean tour for off-field conduct.
Durham teammates Ben Stokes and Matthew Potts were reportedly present at the nightclub during the incident.
This latest event adds to a series of off-field controversies, including Harry Brook being punched by a bouncer in Wellington and Gus Atkinson's involvement in an assault on an England security staff member in London.
Ben Duckett was reportedly drunk during an Ashes series.

Sonny Baker has replaced Carse in the squad for the Test, which is set to begin at Lord's on Thursday.
Despite these issues, England recently beat Pakistan by an innings and 103 runs at Headingley.

However, other claims suggest England players are probably being targeted.
