Brydon Carse faces an England and Wales Cricket Board investigation following a Saturday nightclub incident in Derby.
An England and Wales Cricket Board spokesperson confirmed, "We are aware of an incident which is reported to have taken place in Derby last night, and are currently investigating."
The ECB spokesperson added, "We will provide a further update when possible."
This incident follows a series of disciplinary issues involving England players.
Carse, England's leading wicket-taker during a recent Ashes tour, previously received a three-month ban two years ago for betting violations; he was also seen dislodging money from his pocket outside a Perth café after a Test defeat in Australia.

Separately, other players have faced scrutiny: Harry Brook was reportedly punched by a bouncer outside a Wellington nightclub in November.
Ben Duckett appeared disoriented in video from a mid-series break during the Ashes.
Ben Stokes and Gus Atkinson breached a midnight curfew following England's win against New Zealand in June; Stokes and Atkinson were stood down for the next Test at the Oval before returning for the decider at Trent Bridge, with Stokes ending his international career at the close of that series.
Despite Ben Stokes denying the England team has a drinking culture three weeks ago, supporters reportedly feel the behavior of these players is now beyond parody. The governing body is expected to decide if Carse needs to be removed from the Test squad.
