President Donald Trump asked Kimberly Guilfoyle to resign as U.S. ambassador to Greece.
White House Press Secretary Katie Zacharia announced the resignation request during a White House briefing on Tuesday morning. "She has been a wonderful asset to the team, and we wish her well," Zacharia stated.
This resignation follows allegations of improper conduct, though Guilfoyle's legal team denies any wrongdoing.
Eric Deters, a former MAGA donor, Kentucky attorney, and former congressional candidate, has vowed to sue Guilfoyle.
Deters' legal action stems from claims that Guilfoyle asked him to pay off her $100,000 American Express bill days before her confirmation hearing in July 2025.

Honey please I need you to get this done for me today.

Guilfoyle reportedly pressed Deters to pay the bill, assuring him the transfer would not show up anywhere. She allegedly told Deters, "Honey please I need you to get this done for me today."
Guilfoyle also reportedly stated, "You could just send it here. It won’t show up anywhere if you wire money to American Express that’s all that will show. Please."
Guilfoyle's legal team, however, claims she was owed $150,000 in unpaid fees for consulting work and previous speaking engagements. They assert the $100,000 requested by Guilfoyle was for unpaid fees owed by Deters.
Separately, Guilfoyle reportedly sought payment from a Trump donor in exchange for access to administration officials.
Guilfoyle previously served as a prosecutor in California and a Fox News host. She and Donald Trump Jr. were engaged until their split in late 2024.
A senior U.S. official indicated a decision on her future is expected this week.
