Norris Claims Hungarian Grand Prix Amidst Penalties and Collisions

Lando Norris secured pole position for the Hungarian Grand Prix, setting the stage for a race fraught with penalties and on-track drama that ultimately saw him claim victory.
Lewis Hamilton, initially qualifying second, received a three-place grid penalty from stewards for impeding Oscar Piastri.
This penalty shifted Charles Leclerc into third place on the grid.
Kimi Antonelli also incurred a three-place grid penalty after qualifying, which elevated George Russell ahead of his teammate.
Lando Norris surrendered the lead to Oscar Piastri following a sloppy start from pole position.
The race took a decisive turn when Oscar Piastri collided with Carlos Sainz, who was attempting to lap him.
Piastri exclaimed, "Get out of the f way you idiot, oh my God," immediately after the contact.

Tom Stallard, Piastri's race engineer, responded, "Oscar, that’s Sainz that cost us that," attempting to clarify the incident.
Piastri retorted, "Oh mate, just don’t even f talk to me," expressing his frustration.
Following Piastri's incident, Norris stopped for tyres and emerged in the net lead.
Piastri's gearbox expired with 14 laps remaining, triggering a Virtual Safety Car; Max Verstappen finished second in the Grand Prix.
Hamilton was instructed to give a position back to Antonelli after officials adjudged him to have been ahead illegally.
He also received a five-second penalty for speeding in the pit-lane.

Hamilton narrowly missed out on pole position before the penalty, and Ferrari failed to inform him about the oncoming McLaren during a critical moment.
Hamilton will question Ferrari’s strategy after stopping for tyres one more time than Verstappen and championship rival Antonelli.
This decision reportedly stemmed from fears his rubber would not last the full race distance.
Hamilton attempted the undercut by stopping one lap before Verstappen, a manoeuvre that reportedly worked.
However, Piastri gave up the lead on lap 32 when he came in for his pit-stop.
McLaren has now won 14 races at the Hungaroring, extending their record at the circuit, with Fernando Alonso also competing in the race.
Hamilton will head into the summer break with a greater deficit to turn around when the season resumes in the Netherlands on August 23.
He lost further ground to Kimi Antonelli in his bid for a record eighth world championship.
The Hungarian Grand Prix marked the last race before the summer break, with the season resuming in the Netherlands on August 23.
F1 confirmed the addition of a race at the Sepang circuit in Malaysia, scheduled for October 4th, replacing the cancelled Bahrain Grand Prix.
The Saudi Arabian Grand Prix was also cancelled and will not be replaced, reshaping the latter half of the racing calendar.
