Kanye West is scheduled to perform in St Petersburg this October.
This announcement follows a series of concert cancellations and performance bans across Europe, all prompted by the rapper's antisemitic remarks.
West was previously banned from traveling to the UK to headline Wireless Festival in April; that event was subsequently canceled, with refunds issued to all ticket holders.
The musician has faced cancellations of planned concerts in the UK, France, and Italy.
Ye's antisemitic remarks began in 2022, leading to account suspensions and severed relationships with brands such as Adidas and Balenciaga.
In January, Ye apologized for his statements, attributing them to a brain injury and bipolar disorder.
Despite these past controversies, West recently performed sold-out shows in Istanbul, Tbilisi, and Almaty, Kazakhstan; a May 30 concert in Istanbul drew 118,000 attendees.
His St. Petersburg dates will likely draw pushback within Russia.
Concerts by Western artists in Russia have become less common since the invasion of Ukraine, but Ye's visit could offer a propaganda coup, bolstering the Kremlin’s efforts to show that Russia remains connected to the outside world.
West is set to become the biggest Western star to play in Russia since its invasion of Ukraine.
Other Western artists have performed in Russia more recently; Jason Derulo performed in St. Petersburg and Moscow last year, and DaBaby and Tyga played in Moscow last year.
Ticket prices for West's St. Petersburg shows start at 9,000 roubles; the cheapest tickets sold out within an hour of release.
The musician has been rumored to be planning to perform in Russia for some time, most recently in 2024. He visited the country to celebrate the birthday of fashion designer Gosha Rubchinskiy, with whom he has collaborated.
