Jeff Bezos is part of a consortium set to acquire a minority stake in Liverpool Football Club.
Fenway Sports Group confirmed an investment consortium, led, managed, and represented by Amit Bhatia, expressed interest in making a strategic minority investment in Liverpool Football Club.
This syndicate's investment would elevate the Premier League club’s valuation to $6 billion; other reports also suggest a valuation of around $6 billion.
The consortium is set to acquire a stake of slightly more than 30 per cent in the Premier League club; some reports indicate a roughly one-third share.
Bhatia confirmed his departure from QPR's board last month, concluding 18 years as a director and co-owner of Queens Park Rangers.
He is also Lakshmi Mittal's son-in-law.
Fenway Sports Group previously sold a minority stake in Liverpool to Dynasty in 2023.
The arrival of investors with enormous financial resources will prompt speculation that they may eventually seek greater control of the club.
Separately, Liverpool has held talks with Paris Saint-Germain winger Bradley Barcola and PSG, with Barcola's price tag reportedly set at €150m (£128m).
Amazon has previously held UK Premier League broadcast rights and currently broadcasts the Champions League and NFL.
