Bayern Munich manager Vincent Kompany was hospitalised after collapsing during training.
Kompany collapsed while observing the second team's session. FC Bayern confirmed his hospitalization and ongoing medical care.
His coaching staff will temporarily manage training and match operations. This shift comes as Bayern prepares for its Sunday game against Freiburg.
Earlier on Friday, a helicopter landed at Bayern's training ground. Aaron Danks had temporarily taken over first-team duties before Kompany's return.
Kompany will undergo thorough examination in the hospital and remain in medical care.
Kompany's collapse links to a viral infection, which caused issues with old scar tissue. This led to difficulties climbing stairs, despite his presence on the touchline for Bayern's Champions League clash with Arsenal, where he missed the pre-match press conference.
FC Bayern stated: "Vincent Kompany had to seek medical treatment on Friday after collapsing during training for FC Bayern's amateurs. The first-team coach had been watching the second team's session. Kompany will undergo thorough examination in the hospital and remain in medical care. For the time being, his coaching staff will manage training and match operations."
