A suspect has been arrested after Adolf Hitler's mountain guest home, the Eagle's Nest, was set on fire.
Approximately 200 firefighters and emergency personnel responded to the incident. No injuries were reported.
Firefighters and police faced difficult terrain, hiking up the Kehlstein mountain to reach the Eagle's Nest. The building was only accessible with "heavy breathing apparatus," Lisa Maier confirmed.

Police confirmed officers took "a suspicious person into temporary custody." A criminal investigation is underway to determine if the suspect is connected to the fire, police claim.

Investigators suspect arson caused the fire. Authorities arrested a motorcyclist encountered en route to the scene.
The Kehlsteinhaus, completed by the Nazis in 1938, survived World War Two undamaged. It now serves as a popular tourist destination, housing a mountain inn and an exhibition since 1952.
