Sturgeon Dismisses Rowling 'Obsession' Amid Fringe Appearance
Former First Minister addresses public disagreements and criticizes Joanna Cherry KC's book during Edinburgh Festival Fringe show.

Nicola Sturgeon appeared at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe on Saturday, addressing her public disagreements with JK Rowling and criticizing Joanna Cherry KC's book.
Nicola Sturgeon declared J.K. Rowling 'seems to be at war' with her, citing gender issues and Scottish independence as flashpoints. 'My god, that woman is obsessed with me,' Sturgeon asserted.

Rowling, Sturgeon claimed, 'seems to have an obsession with me that is not reciprocated.' Sturgeon challenged, 'Can she get through more than 30 seconds of the answer to any question without talking about me?'
The former First Minister acknowledged their deep disagreements, stating, 'We disagree on more than one thing – we disagree about independence, we clearly disagree on trans rights.'
Separately, Sturgeon dismissed Joanna Cherry KC's recently released book, describing it as 's*.'

Sturgeon maintained she has not read the book, explaining, 'One of the things that distresses me most the older I get is that realisation of all of the books I’ll never get to read.' She added, 'Why on earth would I spend time reading one that’s shit?'
Joanna Cherry KC, however, claimed Sturgeon's 'foul-mouthed rant' directly responded to criticisms.
Beyond the political fray, Sturgeon also revealed Peter Murrell lied to her until the very day he pleaded guilty.
