Seven individuals have been arrested on suspicion of murder after a newborn baby girl died in Sheffield.
Officers and paramedics arrived at the scene; despite immediate efforts, they pronounced the baby dead.
South Yorkshire Police attended the Wincobank address, initiating a murder inquiry.
As part of our investigation, seven people have been arrested on suspicion of murder.
Detective Chief Inspector Emma Knight confirmed, "As part of our investigation, seven people have been arrested on suspicion of murder."
Knight acknowledged the community's deep concern. She stated, "We are aware news of this will be deeply concerning and I want to reassure our local communities that we have a dedicated team of detectives and officers hard at work to ensure justice is secured for the baby girl at the heart of this investigation."
South Yorkshire Police reportedly work to determine the ages of some of those arrested.
