Ramsay-Peaty Reaches Final Amidst Family Rift

Ramsay-Peaty severed ties with his parents following a family feud, which began when wider family members received no invitations to his engagement party and wedding.

He insists the bitter family feud 'is no fault of my own,' a claim reiterated in an Instagram statement, asserting 'two sides to every story.'

Friends of Adam’s mother, Caroline, confirm her heartbreak over not watching her son compete in Glasgow.

Caroline Peaty stated, 'We continue to support Adam from afar. He's our son who we love, whom we supported to reach his aspirations.'

She detailed their past contributions, adding, 'Our love, our time, our sacrifices were given freely with no expectation of financial reward just genuinely given with the love as any mother and father would do for their child.'

A relative claimed the hurt Peaty felt over a medal did not compare to the hurt he had caused his mother.

Another family source suggested Adam now 'play[s] the blame game' and employs the 'woe is me' card.

Caroline Peaty articulated a stance of resilience and forgiveness, stating, 'We are strong, we love and are always there for each other.'

She added, 'I forgive people but that doesn't mean I accept their behaviour or trust them. I forgive them for me, so I can let go and move on with my life.'

Peaty alluded to the 's*' he had endured this year, which he blamed for a tired display.

He stated, 'It's hard because I know how hard I've worked. I know the st I've been through, which is no fault of my own. It does take a toll.'

He also affirmed his wife's steadfast loyalty, stating, 'My wife will always be proud of me.'

Peaty further emphasized the paternal perspective, adding, 'As a father, it doesn't matter whether you come home with a gold medal, as long as you come home. That's what really matters.'

He dismissed his bronze medal, stating, 'Without sounding arrogant, it's just a piece of metal that's not really that important.'

Peaty added, 'I don't keep any medals, only the Olympic ones. I have the memories.'

Long jump legend Greg Rutherford, a six-time Olympic medallist, criticized Peaty's comments.

Rutherford stated, 'For some of the athletes there, who may only make a final for it to be their absolute world, there will be a level of thinking 'maybe it's not good enough' which I really don't like.'

Rutherford continued, 'It's flippant. They will really look up to him.'

He acknowledged the pressure of competition, stating, 'I've been there in the heat of the moment - you say things and wish you didn't.'

He concluded his critique, stating, 'I just think you have to be care, and think of others. Nobody deserves anything in sport, everyone works equally as hard.'

Natalie Sawyer also commented on Peaty's statements, saying, 'I saw another interview where he said he deserved to win for all the work and effort he has put in, which I thought he not the right thing to say.'

A source close to the family claimed, 'Adam may be rich, but we have something that he hasn't and that is brains, loyalty, integrity and family.'

The source added, 'When you live to be famous you aren't living, you are playing a role. Fame is but fleeting but family is forever.'

Peaty has a son named George with his ex Eirianedd Munro and aims to compete in a fourth Olympics.

His mother, Caroline Peaty, enrolled him in swimming lessons at age four to help him overcome a fear of water.

Peaty previously took a break from competitive swimming due to mental health struggles and burnout, and once gave a teary interview about a feud with his parents affecting his career.
