Princess Eugenie Welcomes Baby Girl in Lisbon

The baby girl, weighing 6lb 9oz, arrived on Monday, 3 August 2026, at 6:20 pm, in a Lisbon hospital.

Princess Eugenie confirmed the news: "Jack and I are so excited to announce Baby Girl Brooksbank!! We are beyond in love with our girlie."

Buckingham Palace also confirmed the birth of the couple's third child; she joins sons August and Ernest.

The new arrival marks the fifth grandchild for Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor and Sarah Ferguson, placing her 15th in the line of succession to the British throne.

Royal sources confirmed the baby will not carry the HRH title.

The couple maintains a family home at the CostaTerra Golf and Ocean Club in Comporta, Portugal, where Jack Brooksbank accepted a marketing executive position with Discovery Land Company in 2022.

The newborn is only the second royal in a century not born in the UK.

The baby wore clothing from Princess Marie-Chantal of Greece's children's range.

Princess Eugenie and Jack Brooksbank have not yet revealed the baby's name.

A photograph released by the couple shows Jack Brooksbank, identifiable by his wedding band on his ring finger and a signet ring on his pinky finger.

Princess Beatrice's husband, Edo Mapelli Mozzi, left a message on Eugenie's Instagram post.

One author claims Princess Eugenie gave birth in Portugal to distance herself from her father, Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor, and to avoid scrutiny over who pays for her London residence at Kensington Palace's Ivy Cottage, which has three bedrooms.

Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor is now isolated and in exile at Sandringham; Sarah Ferguson has reportedly done an impressive disappearing act, with only one picture seen at a luxury resort in Switzerland.

August, the couple's son, was reportedly named after Queen Victoria's husband Prince Albert, and also incorporates a tribute to Eugenie's grandfather Prince Philip.
