Prince Harry and Meghan Markle will reside in the UK for an extended period.
This move comes six years after their sensational departure from duties as working royals, a fiasco dubbed 'Megxit'. The Sussexes are reportedly set to reside in the UK 'for an extended period' once more.
The family is not believed to be moving into a royal residence; they will not be working members of the Royal Family.
King Charles was reportedly informed on Sunday that his son and daughter-in-law would return to Britain. Other reports claim the King was blindsided by the news.
The King is understood to welcome the opportunity to see more of his family in a personal capacity. There will be no change in their status as private individuals.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex last visited Britain in July, maintaining ties despite their primary residence abroad.
They own a mansion in Montecito, California, purchased in 2020 for $14.65 million. They reportedly also possess a villa on Portugal's Melides coast.
The couple previously rented a four-bedroom farmhouse in the Cotswolds while renovations took place on Frogmore Cottage. This property was later gifted to Princess Eugenie and Jack Brooksbank following their move to Montecito.
Harry and Meghan have reportedly visited the Cotswolds multiple times throughout their relationship. This area remains popular with other notable figures.
Princess Beatrice and Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi reportedly bought a six-bedroom farmhouse in the Cotswolds in 2021 for £3.5 million.
Elsewhere, Ellen DeGeneres and Portia de Rossi reportedly acquired Kitesbridge Farm near Burford for £15 million in 2024. George Clooney and Amal Clooney are understood to live along the Oxfordshire-Berkshire border.
Harry lost a High Court case against the Home Office regarding taxpayer-funded security. This has shaped his security arrangements in the UK.
He was also stripped of his honorary military titles, further altering his official standing within the Royal Family.
