A manhunt is underway for child rapist Cliff Lyons Dobbie after he escaped prison staff.
Police Scotland describes Dobbie as a bald white male with a stocky, muscular build and distinctive tattoos on both arms.
He was reportedly wearing a black baseball cap, white trainers, light blue ripped jeans, a salmon-coloured golf shirt, a light blue jumper, a puffer jacket, and carrying a black backpack at the time of his escape.
Police warn the public not to approach Dobbie; report any sightings directly to them.
Dobbie, who reportedly speaks with a strong Glaswegian accent, has known links to Glasgow and the surrounding area.
He is also understood to have used the names Clifford Lyons and Dobbie.
Dobbie was admitted to the State Hospital in Carstairs and has remained there since the attacks for which he was convicted.
Secure facilities like Carstairs house individuals who committed serious offenses but are deemed mentally ill and in need of treatment.
In 2011, Dobbie won a judicial review against a ban on junk food at Carstairs, claiming he needed high-energy drinks and protein bars for his fitness regime.
