Manchester United Finalises £70 Million Deal for Carlos Baleba

Sporting director Jason Wilcox oversaw a busy transfer window for United, previously securing Andrey Santos and Youri Tielemans this summer.

A deal for Ederson, however, fell through due to medical concerns; the club also missed out on signing Elliot Anderson and Mateus Fernandes.

Manchester United had a £10 million bid rejected for Louis Page. The club remains concerned about the workload on Luke Shaw.

Michael Carrick confirmed the club's intent to strengthen, stating, "I just think we’re looking to strengthen the squad. We’re certainly working towards that, making the most of the situation that we have and trying to improve things and trying to move forward."

Carrick also claims Manchester United are optimistic about signing one more player after Baleba. Ben Jacobs suggests a fourth midfielder is likely.

Brighton's CEO Paul Barber stated he could not discuss Carlos Baleba's situation at this time. He acknowledged Brighton is always subject to bids for its players and interested in those that are sensible financially, while balancing the need to keep the squad strong for competitions like the Europa Conference League, even as Luke Edwards reported that a £70 million package would secure the deal.
