Brighton midfielder's transfer marks significant outlay amidst ongoing squad overhaul and previous missed targets.

Manchester United has agreed a deal with Brighton for Cameroon international Carlos Baleba.
Sporting director Jason Wilcox oversaw a busy transfer window for United, previously securing Andrey Santos and Youri Tielemans this summer.
A deal for Ederson, however, fell through due to medical concerns; the club also missed out on signing Elliot Anderson and Mateus Fernandes.

Brighton's CEO Paul Barber stated he could not discuss Carlos Baleba's situation at this time. He acknowledged Brighton is always subject to bids for its players and interested in those that are sensible financially, while balancing the need to keep the squad strong for competitions like the Europa Conference League, even as Luke Edwards reported that a £70 million package would secure the deal.
