Man Charged Over Keaton Slater's Death After Extradition
Dolars Aleksanders, 23, faces dangerous driving charge following international cooperation.

A man has been extradited to Britain and charged in connection with the death of Keaton Slater.
The Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) has formally charged Dolars Aleksanders. Prosecutors established sufficient evidence, Ben Samples confirmed, to bring the case to court and pursue criminal proceedings.
This extradition and charging process demanded extensive collaboration. West Midlands Police, the Crown Prosecution Service, and the National Crime Agency all participated.
Keaton Slater died two years ago in a hit-and-run incident involving a BMW. West Midlands Police had named Dolars Aleksanders as a person of interest shortly after the crash.
Samples highlighted the broad cooperation. "CPS West Midlands has worked closely with West Midlands Police, Home Office, the Latvian authorities, Europol, the Joint International Crime Centre (JICC), CPS International and the Extradition Unit to bring Mr Aleksanders back to face proceedings in a UK court for an alleged crime that took place there," Samples stated.
The Crown Prosecution Service decided to charge Dolars Aleksanders with one count of causing death by dangerous driving. This decision follows a police investigation into the fatal road traffic collision that led to Keaton Slater's death.
Aleksanders is scheduled to appear before Birmingham Magistrates Court on Thursday.
