James Bourne, a member of McBusted, has provided a health update, revealing plans for major surgery a full 10 months after his withdrawal from the Busted v McFly tour.
Bourne was slated to perform in Birmingham for the tour's September kickoff, but his health prevented his participation.
He stated, "The VS tour kicks off tomorrow night in Birmingham and as excited as l've been all year for this tour to begin. 'I'm really sorry to say that over the last 8 days it has become clear that I am not in good enough health to play these shows :-('"
The Busted and McFly joint tour proceeded through September, October, and November without him.
Bourne's Instagram account was deleted earlier in the month, leading to widespread speculation about his condition and fueling public concern.
He has since clarified his diagnosis, confirming cancer and preparing for 'major surgery to extend his life,' insisting 'there is hope.'

Bourne stated, "I have a plan in place to have a major surgery that should extend my life and hopefully make me well enough to come back to what I love the most which is touring and making music. It really sucks to be out of the game. But there is hope!"
This medical intervention, planned for late July 2026, proves crucial for his long-term well-being.
Bourne indicates the surgery is necessary to extend his life, with an expected recovery period of approximately six months.
He acknowledged the uncertainty surrounding his condition, stating, "There's a lot of information I still don't have about my condition but my bandmates, management and I are unanimous in deciding that I should focus on the medical stuff for now."
Bourne plans to reveal more about his health soon, with an update expected in his Spotify bio.
