Kemi Badenoch has initiated a significant Conservative Party reshuffle.
Andrew Griffith steps in as shadow chancellor, replacing Sir Mel Stride; Dame Priti Patel, meanwhile, makes way for Tom Tugendhat as shadow foreign secretary.
Sir James Cleverly announced his intention to stand down as shadow housing secretary on Saturday, launching a bid for London mayor; Claire Coutinho's impending maternity leave creates another vacancy within the shadow cabinet.
Stuart Andrew also steps down as Shadow Health Secretary, returning to the backbenches. Sir Mel Stride is expected to move to the backbenches, while the fate of other key figures, including the former shadow chancellor, remains unclear.
Tom Tugendhat, a backbencher since his 2024 challenge for party leadership, is understood to assume the foreign affairs brief. Sources indicate Tugendhat's primary role will involve amplifying the Conservatives’ message on defence, described as one of the Tories' "central organising principles."
Priti Patel stated her intention to continue supporting Kemi Badenoch and the Conservative Party in a new capacity. This new role will focus on strengthening relationships with fellow conservatives and centre-right parties globally.

Helen Grant has reportedly requested to leave the shadow frontbench, adding to the list of departures. The Opposition leader now faces the task of filling the shadow housing secretary role.
Cover will also be required for the shadow energy secretary. Richard Fuller will reportedly concentrate on fiscal discipline and savings, with a new Conservative Economic Unit set for formation.
Katie Lam is among those reportedly in line for promotion within the reshuffle. The Conservative Party prepares for a potential early General Election as Parliament returns tomorrow.
