Celtic manager Martin O'Neill is recovering in hospital after undergoing a medical procedure.
O'Neill was in the dugout, leading Celtic to victory against Dundee on Monday night.
Celtic released a statement Wednesday afternoon, confirming the procedure and addressing public speculation.
The club expects O'Neill's release from hospital in the "next day or two."
We would envisage Martin being released from hospital in the next day or two and on behalf of Martin, we would like to thank supporters for their kind wishes. We would ask that the privacy of Martin and his family is respected.
Celtic disclosed no details about the Northern Irishman's procedure.
O'Neill signed a one-year deal in June, making him the permanent manager after two interim spells last season.
His previous interim leadership resulted in a Scottish Premiership and Scottish Cup double for the club.
O'Neill took charge again after Wilfried Nancy's appointment proved unsuccessful.
