Brooks Koepka has reapplied for PGA Tour membership.
He submitted his application on January 9, following his participation in LIV Golf events.
As a result, Koepka will be ineligible for FedEx Cup bonus payments for the current season and cannot accept sponsor exemptions into signature events.
Koepka is now navigating a reinstatement and disciplinary process, with his competitive return anticipated at the Farmers Insurance Open.
The financial stakes are massive.
PGA Tour chief executive Brian Rolapp estimates Koepka could forfeit between $50 million and $85 million in potential earnings.
Koepka's contract with LIV Golf was reportedly worth at least $100 million with one year remaining, according to an anonymous source.
The Returning Member Program, a one-time initiative, does not set a precedent for future player re-entries.
Eligibility for this program is restricted to players who won majors or The Players Championship between 2022 and 2025.
Hudson Swafford previously received one-year bans for each of the five LIV events he played in during 2022.
Rory McIlroy questioned the timing of the move, asking, 'Does it make sense if Brooks wanted to play the PGA Tour again to get him back as soon as possible?'
McIlroy added, 'What Brooks has done in the game of golf, it would be good for everyone to have him back.'
Brandel Chamblee expressed a contrasting view, claiming, 'To allow Brooks to come back with no consequence would undermine the meritocratic foundations that are the one thing that makes the PGA Tour legitimate.'
