Governments and businesses took down their websites. This allowed for immediate updates to the latest PHP version, which includes a patch for the critical flaw.
Government cybersecurity experts are working with OpenAI and international partners. An official stated, "Work has already taken place across Government to identify and fix potential exposures to our systems, and our experts are continuing to work closely with both OpenAI and international partners on this issue."
No large public-facing critical services face disruption. However, some limited services may temporarily go offline while security work proceeds, an official confirmed.
The Office for Budget Responsibility (OBR) took down its website. Downing Street claims this website downtime specifically addresses potential PHP cybersecurity issues; a No 10 spokeswoman clarified this does not mean they were hacked, but work continues to resolve any issues.
